An FBI agent accused of running interference for Hunter Biden tendered his resignation last week, the day after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Joe Rogan Experience interview.
In the interview, Zuckerberg made the stunning revelation that the FBI approached Facebook with warnings of “Russian propaganda” prior to the social media giant suppressing the New York Post’s Oct. 2020 story that revealed the contents of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, just weeks before the 2020 presidential election.
FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault was escorted out of the Bureau Friday after submitting his resignation, in keeping with standard procedure, Fox News confirmed on Monday.
Last Wednesday, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) made public whistleblower claims that Bureau officials directed agents not to investigate the laptop story. Johnson said the whistleblower reported that “Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials told agents not to investigate Hunter Biden’s notorious laptop for months.”
The whistleblower further claimed that FBI management told agents, “You will not look at that Hunter Biden laptop,” and vowed that the bureau was “not going to change the outcome of the election again,” a purported reference to the Former FBI Director James Comey’s decision to reopen its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server shortly before the 2016 election, which she lost to Donald Trump.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing earlier this month, FBI Director Christopher Wray called the whistleblowers’ allegations “deeply troubling.” He promised that the whistleblowers would be protected and removed Thibault from his supervisory role.
Big Tech and mainstream media outlets either censored or declined to report on the Post’s reporting on the Hunter Biden story citing “Russian disinformation,” the same phrase Zuckerberg attributed to FBI agents in their pre-election warning to Facebook. The New York Times finally acknowledged the veracity of the Post’s reporting in March 2021, after which other media outlets quickly followed suit.
Poll: 79% of voters believe media coverup changed the election outcome
A new poll shows that nearly 8 out of 10 Americans believe that “truthful” coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop story would have changed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
The newly released results of a survey conducted by New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP) show that 79% of Americans believe it was “very” or “somewhat” likely that “a truthful interpretation of the laptop” contents would have resulted in former President Donald Trump’s reelection.
When broken down along party lines, the data shows that among those who said they were strongly convinced Trump would have won, 57% were Republicans, compared to 48% of Independents and 44% of Democrats.
Asked if the laptop story “is real,” 89% of Republicans, 61% of Democrats, and 74% of independents replied affirmatively.
Among those surveyed, 81% said U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland should appoint a special counsel to probe the contents of the laptop that exposed Hunter Biden’s shady foreign business dealings and countered his father’s assertions that he had no knowledge of his son’s overseas ventures.
The report was based on responses of 437 adults who said they were following the laptop scandal “very closely” or “somewhat closely” as part of an online survey of 1,335 adults conducted earlier this month and has a “credibility interval” of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points, according to TIPP.
Former President Trump, who has long claimed that the 2020 election was “stolen,” took to social media to demand either a new election or a declaration of the “rightful winner” of the 2020 race in the wake of the Zuckerberg bombshell.
“So now it comes out, conclusively, that the FBI BURIED THE HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY BEFORE THE ELECTION knowing that, if they didn’t, ’Trump would have easily won the 2020 Presidential Election,’” the former president said Monday on his Truth Social account.
