Florida experiences massive flooding

Parts of the Sunshine State are underwater after torrential rains.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for the southern part of the State including Miami and Fort Lauderdale after the National Weather Service warned of “life-threatening flooding.”

Yesterday was Fort Lauderdale’s eighth wettest day on record after it received nine-and-a-half inches of rain. The storm forced the city’s two major airports to cancel over 600 flights.

A flood warning will remain in effect through tomorrow for parts of the region. Residents are urged to stay off the road as they brace for another round of rain.
