According to a new Gallup Poll, a substantial number of Americans see crime as a serious problem at the national level.
The poll showed that 63% of Americans described crime in the States as “extremely or very serious.” This number represents a roughly 10% increase since 2021. Similar opinions on crime have been recorded three times in the past two decades, starting in the year 2000.
On a local level, only 17% of respondents said crime was a serious problem; however, the number has risen by 1% since 2014.
