Haitian group sues Trump, Vance over Springfield comments

Controversy continues to surround the migrant crisis in Springfield, Ohio.

Yesterday, a Haitian nonprofit filed a criminal complaint against Donald Trump and JD Vance over their heavily disputed claims about Haitian migrants eating pets in Springfield.

The non-profit Haitian Bridge Alliance alleges that Trump and Vance’s claims had a “direct impact” in spurring the more than 30 bomb threats that targeted the city over the past few weeks.

Gov. Mike DeWine says those threats were revealed to be hoaxes, most coming from outside the country. He has also said there is no evidence that migrants are eating pets in Springfield.

However, some residents claim that it is happening. A hearing still needs to be scheduled for the complaint to move forward.
