Bad news could be on the horizon for Kamala Harris – with new polling showing her “honeymoon” period is coming to an end.
A brand new New York Times/Siena poll shows Donald Trump currently leading Harris by 1 point – 48% to 47%. It’s basically a tie but it marks the first pollster other than Rasmussen to show Trump ahead in nearly a month.
Renowned poll analyst Nate Silver of 538 reacted to the poll saying it confirmed his model’s view “that there’s been some sort of a shift in momentum in the race.”
Silver currently believes there’s nearly a 64% chance that Trump will win the election, compared to a 36% chance for Harris. His model also predicts a blowout election, with Trump winning 312 electoral votes compared to Harris’s 226.
All this serves to put more pressure on Harris ahead of tomorrow’s debate. Twenty-eight percent of likely voters say they feel like they need to know more about Harris, while only 9% said the same about Trump.
