Harris scheduled to hold first interview of campaign

by ian

CNN announced yesterday that Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will appear for a joint interview with anchor Dana Bash tomorrow night.

The announcement makes good on Harris’ promise to hold an interview by the end of the month, a promise necessitated by the growing criticism Harris has faced for actively avoiding the press since launching her campaign. She’s not held an interview or press conference in nearly 40 days.

The campaign hopes the interview will put those criticisms to rest, but some aren’t sure it’s going to work. CNN Senior Political Commentator Scott Jennings says the fact it’s a joint interview with both Harris and Walz will likely draw new attacks from Republicans.

The interview will air at 9 p.m. ET.
