With Donald Trump on his heels most of the night, it’s not surprising that many viewers saw Harris as the victor in last night’s debate.
The results are mirrored by polling from the typically Trump friendly Trafalgar Group, where 55% of swing state voters said Harris was the winner compared to 42% who said it was Trump, although some undecided voters said, regardless of Trump’s performance, his policies have won them over.
Following the debate, Reuters interviewed 10 undecided voters. Six of them now plan to vote for Trump or are at least leaning toward backing him, saying Harris’ policies are still too vague. Only three said they would now vote for Harris.
Trump might have a chance to redeem himself. The Harris campaign is now calling for a second debate. Trump said he might be up for a rematch “if it was on a fair network.”
