House GOP cracks down on antisemitism

House Republicans are making another attempt at combating antisemitism on college campuses. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced the chamber-wide effort yesterday.

As reported by the Daily Wire,  “the effort will involve scrutinizing federal funding and tax benefits universities receive, as well as cracking down on foreign student visa recipients perpetuating sympathy to terrorist groups.”

Education and Workforce Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) has asked several universities to testify before her committee later this month.

The House will vote on a bill this week that would mandate that the Department of Education use the definition of antisemitism put forward by the Holocaust Remembrance Alliance when enforcing anti-discrimination laws.
