House Intel Chair defends sounding alarm on Russian space threat

House intel chair Mike Turner (R-Ohio) is defending his decision to warn the public about Russia’s anti-satellite efforts.

He faced blowback last week after releasing a statement warning of a “destabilizing foreign military capability.” Turner appeared on NBC News over the weekend to explain why he chose to sound the alarm.

Some conservatives are calling for an investigation – accusing Turner of drumming up panic to pass more funding for Ukraine. Turner says that’s not true and says his goal was to put pressure on the Biden administration to take action.
