House Republicans grill Sec. Def. Austin over hospitalization

Yesterday a group of Republican congressmen grilled Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on his failure to report his Jan. 1 hospitalization. Now, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) says someone needs to be held accountable.

Other representatives, like Elise Stefanik of New York, asked the secretary if he was holding himself to a different standard than other officers under him.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) doubled down on that double standard, referencing the military’s vaccine mandate that saw thousands of military servicemembers axed from the job.
