Houthis sink second ship in Red Sea

A Greek-owned coal carrier struck by the Houthis last week has now sunk.

The MV Tutor is now the second known boat to be capsized by the Iranian-backed rebels since March, following the British Rubymar. It is also one of two vessels to have been evacuated on the Red Sea last week following Houthi attacks.

One crew member of the Tutor went missing during that attack. In a different attack, a mariner with the Ukrainian-owned M/V Verbena was seriously injured. The Pentagon said yesterday it will continue degrading the Houthis’ attack abilities.

The Yemen rebels have conducted over 190 attacks since the Israeli-Hamas war began. The press secretary did not reveal any new actions the U.S. and its allies will take to deter the Red Sea attacks.
