ICE arrests 8 men with ties to ISIS-K terrorist group

ICE agents have detained multiple foreign nationals with ties to ISIS. Eight people from Tajikistan are in custody following recent arrests in Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia.

No active terror plots were discovered, but the arrests come as officials are increasingly weary of terrorists exploiting the border crisis to enter the country. All eight suspects crossed the border illegally and were released into the US.

The Department of Homeland Security says the arrests were made in coordination with the FBI. The departments said in a joint statement that the US is currently at a “heightened risk” of terror attacks and, as such, they will continue to carry out further investigations into potential threats.
