Iran increases supply of near-weapons-grade enriched uranium

Iran is getting dangerously close to having nuclear weapons.

According to a UN watchdog report seen by the Associated Press, the country has amassed a stockpile of 60% enriched uranium just in the past few months. The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies says that 99% of building weapons-grade uranium happens in the enrichment phase of 60%.

The last phase, which takes uranium to 90% of enrichment, is only 1% away from reaching weapons-grade level. That last period, known as the “breakout time”, only takes seven days.

The Daily Wire reports that Iran has been stockpiling uranium since Joe Biden took office in 2020. Because of his lax sanctions, the country has been making great advances in this territory.
