Israel, Hezbollah, exchange aerial bombardments

Israel and Hezbollah continued to exchange fire over the weekend, beginning on Sunday when Hezbollah struck multiple sites in Israel.

According to Israeli officials, roughly 100 fighter jets struck attack drones and rocket launchers in Lebanon, preventing what would have otherwise been a much larger attack. IDF officials later said they believed as many as 6,000 rockets were destroyed.

Despite the rapid response from Israeli forces, some rockets managed to strike cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv. Hezbollah says the attack was in response to the death of commander Fuad Shukr.

Israel later retaliated by striking positions in southern Lebanon.
