Yesterday, Israeli forces raided Al Jazeera’s offices in the West Bank, accusing the news outlet of “incitement to and support of terrorism” and saying it was “the mouthpiece of Hamas and Hezbollah.”
It follows a similar raid on Al Jazeera’s office in East Jerusalem in May. During yesterday’s raid, Israel seized dozens of computers and cameras and has since ordered the office to remain closed for 45 days.
Earlier this year, an Israeli court found “that there was a ‘close connection’ between Al Jazeera and Hamas, that some Al Jazeera reporters in Gaza had become ‘assistants and partners’ to the Palestinian terror group, and that some of them had even carried out terror attacks,” according to the Times of Israel.
Al Jazeera denies being a threat to Israel’s national security.
