Israeli government unanimously rejects 2-state solution

Israel continues to resist efforts to create a Palestinian state in Gaza.

The Israeli Parliament unanimously voted yesterday to reject calls for a two-state solution once the war against Hamas is over. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says a two-state agreement would amount to rewarding terrorism.

The Biden administration has repeatedly called for the war to end with a reformed Palestinian state. But it’s not just Israel rejecting this idea. A senior Hamas official recently called the plan unacceptable because it still recognizes Israel as a legitimate state.
