The House of Representatives today officially censured Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.) for pulling a fire alarm in September.
Bowman contends that he accidentally pulled the alarm while in a rush to vote on a government spending bill unveiled by then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy. The bill was unveiled with little time for Democrats to review, which Republicans say is the reason Bowman pulled the alarm.
House Democrats such as Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.) blasted the censure.
The vote passed 214 to 191, mostly along party lines.
