Today January 20th 2021 marked the inauguration of Joseph R Biden as the 46th president of the United States. In his speech Biden reasserted the need for unity in the country and promised to be a President for all Americans regardless of their politics, while also touting some progressive messaging such as the problems of climate change and racial inequality.
While Vice President Mike Pence attended the event, President Trump chose to forgo the ceremony. In Trump’s farewell address he wished the next administration luck, touted the successes of his presidency, and said he “will be back in some form.”
