Military going woke – Air Force discourages cadets from using ‘gender specific’ terms

In the last several years, many Americans have grown increasingly fearful of a weakened U.S. military force, wondering just how protected they would be in the outbreak of war.

There are multiple reasons for this, including a draconic COVID-19 vaccine mandate that has barred thousands from serving, but one of the main reasons has been the military’s incessant push for LGBTQ “inclusivity.”

The latest example comes from the United States Air Force Academy, which is allegedly preventing cadets from using gender-specific terms such as “mom” and “dad.”

On Thursday, Fox News reported that the Colorado-based Academy created a presentation titled “Diversity & Inclusion: What it is, why we care, & what we can do.” A far cry from teaching aspiring airmen to protect and defend the nation and the Constitution, the instruction instead focuses on weeding out gender-specific language so as to not be “offensive.”

It reads, in part,

Some families are headed by single parents, grandparents, foster parents, two moms, two dads, etc.: consider ‘parent or caregiver’ instead of ‘mom and dad’ … Use words that include all genders: ‘Folks’ or ‘Y’all’ instead of ‘guys’; ‘partner’ vs. ‘boyfriend or girlfriend.’

Understandably, many are shocked and worried that the Air Force, alongside other branches of the military, is wasting its time teaching recruits to not be offensive when it should instead teach recruits how to defend their country and their loved ones if the United States comes under attack.

Rep. Mike Waltz (R.-Fla.) is a Green Beret and Afghan War veteran who knows firsthand the need for courage and tenacity in battle. He said in a recent interview,

It’s been a tradition in the military to get letters from mom and dad or your boyfriend and girlfriend for as long as there’s been a military. Now we’re instructing every cadet entering the Air Force to not say ‘mom’ and ‘dad,’ to not say ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend,’ and this kind of drive towards gender neutrality. I think the Air Force should be worried about the macro aggressions against America that are happening all over the world.

Author’s Biblical Analysis:

What do Christians make of this report? There are several truths that come to the forefront. We must tread somberly, as these truths carry a theme of warning that equals the theme of encouragement.

The first is this — the military has, like many other spheres of American culture, rejected the authority of the One True God.

By preventing cadets from using gender-specific language, the leaders in the military are rebelling against the system of science and biology that God Himself has ordained. We see this in the very beginning, before the Fall, and even before God named the man and the woman. We are told in Genesis 1:27,

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Gender-specific language is a God-ordained phenomenon. He created two genders, and we are told later in Genesis that this was very good. Any altercation of this ordered system is both a perversion of God’s design for sexuality and an affront to God’s authority. The U.S. military has sinned against God and must repent.

It is worth noting as well that the military is doing the exact opposite of what God does. God takes that which is chaotic and brings order. He did so at creation, and He lovingly does so in His commands to His children. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 14:33:

For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

God’s created order makes sense. On the contrary, the LGBTQ revolution, which the U.S. military is quickly joining, takes God’s orderly created system and makes it chaotic. This disobedience against God’s created order brings confusion where there should be clarity. It brings perverted chaos where there should be wholesome simplicity. In this way as well, the U.S. military has sinned against God.

Christians should do well to remember that God brings just punishment on those who sin against him and who do not repent. But in the midst of that, Christians must take courage.

Therefore, our second truth from this report is this — the Christian must not place his hope in a manmade military force, but in the might of God, through whom we have eternal victory.

The Old Testament is full of accounts where the Israelite military force was defeated in battle because the people of God openly rejected His commandments. God punished His people by handing them over to their enemies.

Christians see a similar pattern with the military, which has, like the nation at large, openly rejected the commands of God. If our hope was in a victory that only the American military force could provide, we would have every reason to fear.

But we place our hope in the command of the Lord of heaven’s armies. Christians understand that the military conflict we see around us is not the real fight. There is a spiritual war going on, a war for the truth and for the gospel. Christians have the ultimate victory in this fight, thanks to our champion Jesus Christ who slayed the giant of sin and death on our behalf, so that we can charge forth in victory.

Believers, pray for God’s protection over our physical military. Pray for His grace on the military even as it has openly rebelled against Him. But do not place your hope in the strength of a political-military force.

Place your supreme hope and confidence in the God who fights on behalf of His people. The battle, and with it the victory, belongs to the Lord.

For the battle is the Lord’s…  – 1 Samuel 17:47
