Moms for America released the group’s first Congressional Report Card earlier this month and more than half of both chambers received failing grades.

A conservative 501(c)(3), Moms for America is a “movement of mothers reclaiming our culture for truth, family, freedom and the Constitution.” According to President and founder Kimberly Fletcher, the group boasts more than 500,000 members from all 50 states.

Leaders held a press conference last week on Capitol Hill, where they released their first Congressional Report Card, which scored members of the House and Senate based on their votes on 12 key topics, including Critical Race Theory, gender “affirmation”, and the right to protect oneself.

The grassroots parental rights group created the tool to specifically help mothers identify which politicians stand for the values that represent them and their families.

The group released a document ahead of the press conference in which Fletcher explained that both Democrats and Republicans are failing to protect parental rights.

“From Medical Mandates to Mask Mandates, from radical Critical Race Theory to Gender Equality, from the right to keep and bear arms to School Choice – our 2022 Report Card finds both political parties lacking the will to take necessary steps to protect the interests of America’s moms,” she said.

In the report card, members of the Senate and House of Representatives received scores from A+ down to an F based on how they actually voted regarding key topics. Fletcher clarified in her speech that Moms for America did not assign any subjective grades to congressional members. Rather, members of Congress earned grades based on the way they voted on key issues.

In a breakdown of the results, 43 Republican representatives received a grade of “A+,” 47 received an “A,” and 79 received an “A-.” Additionally, nine Republican senators received a grade of “A+” with 12 more Republicans receiving a grade of “A.”

More than half of the lawmakers in both chambers received an “F” grade.

Two of the members who received “A” grades, Reps Billy Long (R-Mo.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), were invited to speak at the conference. Long declared that the people who will save America are the moms. Greene said that Democrat policies such as “child abuse, called so-called ‘gender-affirming care’” and attempts to keep mothers out of school board meetings have led to moms being so upset.

In addition to the Congressional Report Card, Moms for America has created MomVote, which equips moms with the ability to register to vote as well as a list of who the candidates are and what they stand for. This tool is particularly helpful as most mothers are squeezed for time and cannot always do comprehensive research about each candidate before voting, the group said.

The 2022 Report Card focuses solely on the 117th Congress, but the group has also created a questionnaire that candidates seeking office this fall can fill out. Moms for America hopes to release a new report card every election year, with the intention to eventually release a new report card annually.

Fletcher proclaimed that we are in the midst of a “mom-led revolution,” as mothers realize “our vote is our voice for our values” and mothers want to take back control of making sure their values are represented.

Politicians “say a lot of things but when they go down to vote, they don’t vote the way that they speak. That’s the reason why this report card is so important,” Fletcher said. “It isn’t just repeating what they say on a campaign site or a stump speech. It’s actually showing how they voted when that was brought up, when that specific issue or policy was brought up.”
