More legal groups, states sue over Biden’s Title IX changes

Even more lawsuits are in the works against President Joe Biden’s expansion of Title IX to include protections for gender identity.

This week, Moms for Liberty and Young America’s Foundation (YAF), along with the attorneys general of Kansas, Wyoming, Utah and Alaska, became the latest to challenge the new rules. They join a growing number of states, students and legal groups suing the federal government.

The new rules would make it discriminatory to “misgender” a transgender student and bar them from the bathroom of their choice. YAF called the rule “unconscionable,” saying it forces schools “to repeat and live the lie that men can be women.”

A number of Republican-led states have already pledged to ignore the changes.
