Nearly 75K migrants pose national security risks, says CBP

Customs and Border Protection has flagged 75,000 illegal migrants as potential national security risks over the last 10 months.

These migrants are labeled as security risks due to engaging in travel patterns that “possibly have a nexus to terrorism,” or possibly being from a country with such ties.

For example, the FBI is currently searching for a group of more than a dozen migrants from Uzbekistan after they used an ISIS-tied smuggler to cross the border.

This comes as almost 370 foreign nationals were arrested throughout August for an assortment of criminal allegations – including manslaughter, murder for hire, domestic violence, drug trafficking, and more.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has yet to respond to repeated requests by Congressional Republicans to provide them with the number of Terror Watch List encounters at the southern border.
