Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is seeing another bump in the polls.
A New Wall Street Journal poll shows Haley narrowly besting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for second place 15% to 14%. But this still leaves her in a distant second behind former President Donald Trump, who is tracking as having 59% of the vote.
That poll was taken just days before Wednesday’s debate, where Haley was forced to fend off joint attacks from DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
It appears she may have been successful; an Iowa focus group thought she was the overwhelming winner of the night.
A Washington Post poll shows DeSantis as the winner with 30% of debate viewers saying he did the best and 23% leaning toward Haley.
On the flip side, 37% thought Ramaswamy gave the worst performance and 31% said the same about former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
