Week ten of the NFL season began with a marquee transaction and a shocking upset on Thursday Night Football.

The L.A. Rams announced Thursday that they have signed star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year contract.

Beckham has, at his best, been one of the most prolific playmakers in the NFL since his rookie season in 2014. At his worst, he has been labeled an unhealthy media magnet who sometimes lets a sour attitude cloud his judgement on the playing field.

This is clearly a “win now” move for the Rams, a team already loaded with offensive talent at the wide receiver position, with Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods logging big offensive numbers, catching passes from talented veteran Matthew Stafford. Beckham adds an additional explosive weapon to L.A.’s offensive firepower.

The Rams sit a game behind the Arizona Cardinals atop the NFC West at 7-2 and hold the top wildcard spot in the conference.

In other NFL News, the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins met in Miami for a prime time matchup on Thursday night football. The Dolphins shocked the favored Ravens 22-10, as young quarterback Tua Tugaviloa returned from injury to lead Miami to its third win of the season. One of the highlights came late in the game as Dolphins were threatening to score. Tugaviloa found offensive lineman Robert Hunt who made an impressive effort to reach the end zone, flipping head over heels at the one yard line.

Ravens star signal caller Lamar Jackson did not play at his usual high level, throwing for only 238 yards, one touchdown and one interception as Baltimore drops to 6-3 on the year.
