No Labels asks for investigation into ballot gatekeeping

The nonpartisan organization No Labels is asking the Department of Justice to investigate the integrity of the 2024 elections.

Yesterday, the organization filed a complaint with the DOJ alleging that their third-party candidates are being intentionally kept from ballots. The group also alleged that there are active efforts to undermine voter choice and intimidate potential candidates.

No Labels National Co-Chair Dr. Benjamin Chavis says this is “one of the most brazen suppression efforts” he has ever seen. He added, “This represents a moral, ethical and legal assault on America’s sacred right to vote.”

For a bit of context, No Labels has been trying to get independent candidates on the ballot in all 50 states since last spring. However, critics of the group’s efforts fear that adding more options would result in the reelection of former president Donald Trump.
