Vice President Kamala Harris hosted a celebrity livestream campaign rally with Oprah Winfrey last night.
The two sat down in Farmington Hills, Michigan, to discuss Harris’ vision for America in the vice president’s usual broad terms. She emphasized her commitment to reproductive freedom, freedom from gun violence and the “freedom to just be.”
One moment that stood out to conservatives was when the vice president talked about her views on the Second Amendment. While she reiterated her point that she believes in banning “assault weapons,” she also said she is a gun owner, adding that if anyone tried to break into her home, they would get shot.
Following her candid comment, Harris said through laughter, “I shouldn’t have said that.”
