Over 42 million Americans are traveling for Memorial Day

Maybe you are one of the forty two million Americans will travel this memorial day weekend!

Recent estimates from the AAA is calling it the third busiest memorial day weekend since the year 2000. Analysts predict that much of that travel will be done by plane, likely exceeding pre-pandemic levels.

Nearly three and a half million Americans will take to the skies this weekend, which is eleven percent more than last year. And yet shortages of air traffic controllers may cause problems.

The US Travel Association told reporters just last month that they are “struggling to keep up with demand.” Many, however, are blaming the FAA for the shortages. The organization is currently at a thirty year low in the number of certified air traffic controllers.

The shortage and summer storms could cause severe delays this weekend. So expect delays, have snacks, download movies, and try to make the most of it!
