Republican Pennsylvania lawmakers are looking to enact some political revenge on President Joe Biden by considering a law that would reroute planes carrying illegal immigrants from the Keystone state to the President’s home state of Delaware.

State Senator Mario Scavello released a memo earlier this month in which Scavello said he intends “to introduce legislation to address the influx of illegal immigrants being relocated into Pennsylvania.”

“The federal government has relocated an unknown number of illegal immigrants to states across the nation, including Pennsylvania, and at the same time they have failed to provide information that ensures the safety of Pennsylvania citizens,” Scavello wrote. “The open-border policy of the President’s Administration has created a health crisis as well as a financial crisis, and states across the nation are being forced to pay for the reckless abandonment of the rule of law.”

The senator went on to say he is seeking to implement legislation, similar to a proposal being considered in Florida, that would “implement a transportation program for the unauthorized relocation of illegal immigrants in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to the state of Delaware.” This legislation would also “ban the issuance of state contract work with any federal contractors working with the federal government to transport illegal immigrants into Pennsylvania.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis floated a similar idea in November. Responding to reports that the federal government was flying illegal immigrants from Texas to the Jacksonville, DeSantis said he’d “provide buses” to “send them to Delaware.”  DeSantis also threatened to curtail contractors that assist with transporting illegal immigrants from doing business in Florida.

Last month FISM News reported on least four flights of unaccompanied immigrant minors landing in Pennsylvania’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

At the time U.S. Representative Dan Meuser (R-PA) wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Acting ICE Director Tae Johnson saying “I am calling on you and President Biden to immediately end this irresponsible practice in northeast Pennsylvania and throughout the country.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s office told Fox News that these “were not ICE flights,” but rather the “unaccompanied children passed through the Wilkes-Barre airport en route to their final destination to be unified with their parents or vetted sponsor.”
