Police arrest father of Georgia school shooter

He’s been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children.

Meanwhile, his son faces four counts of felony murder and is set to be tried as an adult. Both appeared in court today. The charges against the father reflect a new trend of authorities seeking to hold parents accountable when their children commit crimes of violence.

Earlier this year the parents of a school shooter in Michigan were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison – the first time parents of a mass shooter have been convicted.
