Pope Francis is weighing in on the upcoming presidential election. He says it’s a choice between the “lesser of two evils” – citing Donald Trump’s strict immigration policy and Kamala Harris’ support for abortion.
It’s not the first time Francis has criticized Donald Trump. In 2016, he slammed Trump, saying “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel.”
He’s also frequently condemned abortion, saying in 2021 “Abortion is murder … Those who carry out abortions kill.”
Francis’ thoughts on the election are sure to create some controversy – just the latest for the Pope who last week raised eyebrows for suggesting that all religions lead to God.
