Prosecutor Nathan Wade resigns from Trump Georgia case

Special prosecutor Nathan Wade has stepped down from the 2020 Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

His resignation came just hours after Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee ordered that either he or District Attorney Fani Willis leave the case. Wade’s letter of resignation stated that this move was in the “interest of democracy.” Willis, in turn, praised Wade for his “professionalism and dignity.”

Still, the ruling has received its fair share of criticism, including from Harvard law professor Jonathan Turley.

Trump responded to Wade walking away from the case, posting on Truth Social that he “resigned in disgrace.”
