Rare Biden interview critiqued for ‘softball’ approach

President Joe Biden sat down with CNN’s Erin Burnett for a “rare” one-on-one interview yesterday.

The largely one-way discussion received much flack for Burnett having seemingly let Biden off the hook with no challenging questions and little fact-checking. What stood out to most critics, however, was how the president touted his economy amidst historic inflation.

When Biden took office, inflation was 1.4%, not 9% as the president claimed. Biden also claimed that he has never failed to create jobs, unlike his predecessor, former president Trump, for which he received no pushback.

Of course, this doesn’t come as a surprise. Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele admitted on The Megyn Kelly Show recently that her 2021 interview with the president was completely scripted.
