Republican Govs back Abbott in border battle with Feds

Republicans are rallying behind Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as he continues to fortify the border with razor wire in defiance of the Biden administration. Abbott says he has a constitutional duty to defend his state.

Yesterday, 25 Governors released a joint statement expressing support for Abbott. One of them, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, says she is prepared to send the South Dakota National Guard to Texas.

It’s a move encouraged by former President Donald Trump, who said on Truth Social that all “willing states” should “deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border.”
