During a campaign stop, former President Donald Trump took aim at his Democrat competitor on the topic of the immigration crisis. Trump recalled the death of Georgian nursing student Laken Riley, saying that Vice President Kamala Harris was responsible.
Harris’s record on the border has been a popular topic of derision. Republicans are particularly adamant about pointing out her well-documented role as President Joe Biden’s “border czar.” The House of Representatives even condemned her for a lackluster job of managing the border crisis.
But it seems as though the Biden-Harris administration is attempting to distance itself from the border crisis problem by throwing it back to Congress. On Wednesday, the White House issued a new proposal to counter the fentanyl epidemic in the nation – urging Congress to pass it into law.
But many officials and border experts say that Harris cannot be separated from the crisis.
