Retired military leaders sound alarm on Chinese threat

The U.S. military is issuing the most dire warning to date about America’s ability to tackle China’s threat.

Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall, testifying before Congress, said that we are “out of time” to modernize our forces against China and other adversaries.

He warned that the U.S. is falling behind in a “race for military technology superiority.”

China continues to tout its hypersonic missile capabilities, which the U.S. is not yet capable of defending against. In the same hearing, other top military brass highlighted the need to invest in air and space technologies to try to catch up.

Retired Air Force officer Robert Spalding told a separate committee that China is waging a “global political war” to steer countries towards their interests.
