RFK running mate Shanahan floats possible Trump team-up

Independent candidate RKF Jr. and running mate Nicole Shanahan are making headlines for recent comments on both the Trump and Harris campaigns. The most surprising news is that they may be considering a team-up with Trump.

That speculation began after comments Shanahan made during an interview released yesterday by the Impact Theory podcast. Shanahan was asked about her and RFK’s future in the 2024 race, and she responded with two different scenarios.

The Kennedy campaign has faced many troubles recently, including financial support and legal challenges regarding their ballot access. The campaign has also been largely labeled as a “spoiler,” which is essentially a losing campaign that affects the overall result by drawing votes that would have gone to other candidates.

Shanahan commented on this during the interview, essentially pitting the worth of staying in the race against “a Harris-Walz presidency.”

RFK Jr has also made Similar comments about the Harris campaign. On Aug. 15, he made a lengthy post on X which read that Harris’s version of the Democratic Party is “unrecognizable” compared to the one that his father and uncle knew.

After lobbing multiple critiques against Harris, Kennedy ended his post by saying that he had “no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President.”

Then, yesterday, he took to X again saying that he is “willing to talk with leaders of any political party” on furthering his goals. Since he has shrugged off Harris as a possible teammate, some took this newer post to mean he was willing to partner with Trump.

Shanahan affirmed that neither she nor Kennedy are speaking regularly with Trump and his team, but she did say that the Trump side has been “receptive” to their ideas.
