Sen. Katie Britt defends SOTU response

Following her Republican response to the State of the Union, Alabama Sen. Katie Britt was widely panned for what critics described as an overly dramatic performance. She was also accused of trying to blame President Joe Biden for a case of human trafficking that happened two decades ago.

Appearing on Fox News, Britt says she wasn’t trying to blame Biden for that specific incident but was rather trying to highlight the sexual violence at the border.

She noted that human trafficking has gone up in the last few years, saying it’s grown from a $500 million industry in 2018 to a $13 billion one today.
