The Senate is rushing to wrap up some unfinished business before breaking until the New Year.
First, a unanimous vote reauthorized the FAA for the next three months. The Senate also nominated district judges and will do some “housekeeping business” today.
But Democrats also celebrated the end of Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s blockade of military promotions last night.
Tuberville had hoped to end the abortion care the military provides for service members but the hold came to an end last night. The senator lamented how the American people didn’t get the voice they deserved.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) confirmed the final 11 four-star generals last night. But the biggest vote on the floor didn’t see a final resolution.
