Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, continues to bring attention to the chaotic situation in Springfield, Ohio, which is struggling with a massive influx of Haitian migrants.
Much of the conversation surrounding Springfield has focused on unverified rumors of migrants eating pets, but Vance says that’s not where the focus should be.
As far as those rumors about pet eating are concerned, Vance says he’s repeatedly heard from Springfield residents who claim that they are true.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has condemned the rumors as “garbage.” He told ABC News, “There’s no evidence of this at all.” Those comments come as DeWine has authorized $2.5 million for health services in Springfield.
He’s also sending in extra law enforcement to deal with a surge in traffic problems caused by inexperienced Haitian drivers – including several fatal accidents.
