The Carolina Panthers moved to 3-0 on Thursday night by defeating the Houston Texans 24-9 in a kickoff to the NFL’s week 3 action.
The Panthers’ early success has come as a surprise to many, but Thursday’s win may have come at a cost as their star RB Christian McCaffery left the game with a strained hamstring. McCaffery is an electric back who puts up ridiculous stat lines week in and week out, and many doubt that the Panthers will be able to sustain their early success without him. One of McCaffery’s teammates said to not count them out too quickly, saying, “We’re a football team. We’re not the Carolina Christian McCaffreys.”
Meanwhile, the Texans drop to 1-2. The team is hopeful that starting QB Tyrod Taylor will be able to return to action in the next few weeks after recovering from a hamstring injury.
