The MLB Divisional Series started Thursday with 4 teams battling to advance to their league’s Championship Series, while the NFL’s week 5 began with an NFC West divisional clash.

The Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Boston Red Sox 5-0 for the win on Wednesday night giving them a 1-0 advantage in the series. Likely AL Rookie of the Year, Randy Arozarena, was the hero of the night as he became the first player in MLB playoff history to hit a home run and steal home in the same game.

In the other series last night the Astros defeated the White Sox 6-1 to take a 1-0 lead in their series.

Tonight, the first of the NL teams take the field. The LA Dodgers meet the San Francisco Giants for game 1 of their series, while the Red Sox battle the Rays in game two.

In other sports news the LA Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks 26-17 in the first game of week 5 NFL action on Thursday night in Seattle. The NFC West is considered one of the toughest divisions in football, and the Rams won a vital early-season contest against their division rivals to improve to 4-1 on the year. Seattle drops to 2-3 and falls to last place in the division. Rams receiver Robert Woods had a breakout game, with 12 catches for 150 yards.

Week 5 continues on Sunday with a full slate of games in the afternoon. The day culminates with a prime time rematch of the 2020 AFC Championship Game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
