The most celebrated event in American sports takes place this Sunday, as the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals face off in Super Bowl LVI to bring the 2021 NFL season to its close.

The game is expected to be a great matchup: both are No. 4 seed teams and both quarterbacks were No. 1 draft picks. Joe Burrow was taken first overall in the 2020 draft by Cincinnati, while Matthew Stafford went 1 overall in 2009. Both teams had to win three playoff games and at least one on the road on their way to the Super Bowl.

The Rams are 1-3 all-time in Super Bowls, while the Bengals have lost their only two trips. The head coaches for both teams are under 40, representing the youngest coaching matchup in Super Bowl history.

For the second year in a row and the second time in NFL history, a team will play in the Super Bowl in its home stadium. The Rams will be a de facto “home team” at their home field in Inglewood, CA, even though the Bengals are technically considered the home team for this game.

The game features several big-name stars, including 2021 NFL offensive player of the year Kooper Cupp, who many believe should have won the NFL MVP award over winner Aaron Rodgers in the NFL Honors voting on Thursday night.

Fans can catch the game live on NBC or live-streamed on Peacock.
