Tel Aviv protestors demand hostage deal, Netanyahu’s resignation

Tens of thousands of protesters rallied in downtown Tel Aviv over the weekend, demanding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resign, his government be disbanded, and a deal struck to free the remaining hostages trapped in Gaza.

Protestors accused Netanyahu of creating unnecessary tension with the US, instead of working on a hostage deal. It’s important to note that despite frustrations with the prime minister, Israelis still overwhelmingly support the war in Gaza.

A recent Pew Research poll found that 39% of Israelis say Israel’s military response against Hamas has been about right, while 34% say it has not gone far enough. Only 19% think it has gone too far. However, there are concerns about the war expanding to other regions and the overall length of the war.
