Texas stands up to Biden following Supreme Court ruling

Some Democratic lawmakers are urging President Joe Biden to seize the Texas National Guard from Gov. Gregg Abbott. Their outrage comes as Abbott is seemingly defying a Supreme Court decision to allow federal agents to remove razor wire set up by the state along the southern border.

The governor said on social media, “The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line in Eagle Pass.” Public Safety spokesman Chris Olivarez told conservative radio host Glenn Beck the state isn’t backing down.

Abbott maintains he’s acting constitutionally, claiming Biden’s border policies have triggered the state’s right to self-defense – a stance supported by fellow Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
