Thousands of Christians are “deliberately targeted” and killed in Nigeria, according to a major new report from Open Doors International.
The organization is sounding the alarm on the persecution, saying the world has turned a blind eye to what is happening in the nation. Five thousand Nigerian Christians died last year – more than in the rest of the world combined.
The report names the Fulani, Boko Haram and the Islamic State as being behind the violence, which additionally sabotages the livelihood of Christian communities and includes the destruction of animals and food crops.
Thousands of Christians are now forced to live under tarps in government displacement camps.
