Total solar eclipse spurs business across US

Business is booming across more than a dozen states thanks to today’s solar eclipse.

This afternoon, millions of Americans from Dallas to Buffalo New York experienced the mysterious beauty of a total solar eclipse – when the moon perfectly crosses paths with the sun. It’s estimated that 3.7 million people traveled to the 13 states in the eclipse’s path, booking out AirBnb’s and creating a windfall for local businesses.

Experts say it could bring $1.6 billion to local economies, as many towns celebrate with festivals and other events. And it’s important they take advantage while they can as the next total eclipse – in the U.S. at least – won’t happen until August 2044.
