President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump sailed to an easy victory in Michigan’s primary yesterday. And yet, Michigan voters sent a clear message of rebuke to Biden, as more than 16% selected “uncommitted” on the ballot.
Many were Arab Americans showing their disapproval of Biden’s position on the war in Gaza. Layla Elabed, Manager of the “uncommitted” campaign, celebrated the message they sent the White House.
It could mean trouble for the President in November, as Biden beat Trump in Michigan by only 2.8 points in 2020. Speaking of the former president, Trump easily took the state by earning nearly 70% of the Republican vote. Nikki Haley won only 26%, and may now be willing to admit that voters are choosing Trump.
