Trump convicted on 34 counts in hush money case

For the first time in American history, a former president has been convicted of a felony. A Manhattan jury yesterday found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts in his hush money case.

The conviction pertains to hush money payments Trump made to porn star Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. Trump responded to the verdict, saying he’s the victim of a rigged trial.

Each felony charge carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison. Sentencing will take place on July 11, but Trump says he plans to appeal.
