Trump D.C. election case set one day before Super Tuesday

D.C. federal Judge Tanya Chutkan is under fire from conservatives after tentatively setting former President Donald Trump’s trial date in the January 6 case for March 4.

The reason Judge Chutkan is receiving criticism? March 4 falls one day before Super Tuesday, when 14 states head to the polls to choose the GOP nominee for president.

Trump is now accusing Chutkan of election interference.

Trump’s lawyers had pressed for an April 2026 trial date, but Chutkan rejected the request, saying the public had a right to a “prompt and efficient resolution” of the trial.

Meanwhile, a trial for Trump’s hush-money case in New York is slated for March 25 and the classified documents case is slated to being on May 20. A trial date has yet to be set for Trump’s Georgia case.
