Trump fined again over gag order in hush money trial

Yesterday, former President Donald Trump was fined again for violating a gag order in his ongoing hush money trial.

Judge Juan Merchan ordered another $1,000 fine for Trump and threatened the former president with jail time if he violated the gag order in the future. The fine came after Trump apparently made comments about witnesses and jurors outside of court that Merchan deemed unlawful.

This is the second time the former president has reportedly done so. But Trump remains undeterred.

Merchan replied that while he has no desire to put Trump in jail, “at the end of the day” he has a job to do, and that job means upholding the “rule of law.”
